Memorials & celebrations of life

A memorial QR code for the photos and stories people want to share

The people at a memorial are holding pieces of a life the family has never seen — photographs from decades ago, stories nobody else remembers. A code on the order of service gives them somewhere to put those things, quietly, without anyone having to ask.

Vintage black and white family photographs laid out together on a table

The stories that leave with the guests

On the day itself, the family is in the least able position of anyone to collect anything. They are receiving people from the moment they arrive. By the evening, everyone has gone home still carrying the photographs and the stories.

A guest book collects names. What the family tends to want, often months later, is what those people would have said if there had been time, and a way to say it.

A code on the order of service asks quietly and lets people answer whenever they are ready — during the day, that evening, or weeks later when an old photograph turns up in a drawer.

One code, start to finish

Before, during and after

Beforehand

Let people know it is there

Print the code on the order of service, the notice, or a card by the door. People who cannot travel can take part from wherever they are — they open the same link, or scan the code from a photo of the card that somebody sends them.

On the day

No queue, no clipboard

Guests scan whenever the moment is right for them rather than when a table is free. They can upload an old photograph, write down what they remember, or record a message in their own voice. Nobody has to stand with a pen while others wait behind them.

Afterwards

A page the family keeps

Everything gathers into one page the family can return to and share with relatives who were not able to be there. The originals download as a ZIP — the old photographs people upload are frequently ones the family has never had a copy of.

What people can share

Photographs from before

Guests photograph old prints with their phone and upload them, as easily as they upload one from last week. Families routinely end up with pictures from decades they had almost nothing from.

Spoken memories

Some things can only really be said out loud. Guests record straight in the browser, with no app and no account, and the recording keeps the pauses and the voice — which is most of what makes it worth having.

Written tributes

For the people who would rather write. The prompt asks what they would like the family to know, and draws out considerably more than a line under a signature does.

Not a mockup

Open a real event page

Every example on our demo page is a working event running in the product — the countdown before the day, the collecting page during it, and the finished page afterwards. The layout and wording change with the occasion, but the mechanics are identical to what is described here.

What you print

The wording throughout is yours to set before anyone sees it. Nothing defaults to celebratory language.

  • 4×6 and 5×7 cards for the seating and refreshment tables
  • Letter and A4 fold-over tents for a memory table
  • A share image you can include in a notice or send to relatives abroad
  • The QR code as SVG and as a 4096px PNG for the order of service or a larger sign

Questions people ask

Is this appropriate for a memorial?
The page you set up for a memorial does not resemble the one you would set up for a party. There is no celebratory language and no decoration you did not choose; the wording, the prompts and the layout are all yours to set before a single person sees it.
Can people who could not travel still take part?
Yes, and for many families this is the main reason to use it. The link works from anywhere in the world. Relatives abroad open it and upload exactly as the people in the room do — often the photographs that surprise the family most come from the people who could not come.
Can we leave it open for a long time?
Yes. Uploads can stay open for as long as you want them to, and many families leave it open for weeks — people remember things later, and old photographs turn up long after the day itself.
Who can see what people share?
Only people with the link. The page carries instructions to search engines not to index it, it is never listed anywhere public, and you decide what appears on the finished page. Anything can be removed at any time.
What happens to the files afterwards?
You can download everything as a ZIP whenever you like. Originals stay available for 6 months on the $29 plan and 24 months on the $49 plan, and we email you well before that window closes so nothing disappears unannounced.
Can more than one person in the family manage it?
Yes. The private management link can be shared with whoever is handling arrangements — there is no account and no password to pass around, so it can move between people as the week goes on.

One payment, one event, yours to keep

$29 for everything above, with originals kept 6 months. $49 extends that to 24 months and prepares your full archive automatically before anything expires. No subscription either way.
